BCBA Supervision

what is bcba supervision?

For graduate students who want to be BCBAs, supervision of fieldwork hours is a necessity.

Either Supervised Independent Fieldwork (SIF) or Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork (CSF) meet the hours requirements to sit for the BACB exam.

A licensed BCBA meeting the BACB’s qualifications must oversee your fieldwork hours, provide feedback, and mentor you in your journey to becoming a BCBA until you’ve completed the fieldwork hours requirement.

Testimonial

I absolutely loved my supervision experience with Nicole! Throughout our time together, she consistently provided clear, constructive, and appropriate feedback that supported my professional growth. I gained valuable skills through her modeling of clinical practices, conflict resolution strategies, and her genuine care for clients.
Nicole fostered an encouraging and supportive environment by offering meaningful praise and creating a space where I always felt comfortable seeking guidance. Because of her supervision, I feel confident and well-prepared to begin independent practice as a BCBA. I am also grateful to know that I can continue to reach out to her for support as I move forward in my career.

bcba supervision coaching FAQ

Do you follow a specific curriculum for supervision?

No. I have several curricula that I pull material from to facilitate a more individualized supervision experience. You will get access to materials and assignments from me through my credentials, I will not require you to purchase any additional materials as part of your supervision experience.

How many hours a month can I do?

It depends on how many clients we have, but you can do a max of 160 hours per month.  The total number of hours you receive each month is up to you.
I provide 5% for the supervised independent fieldwork, or 7.5% for the concentrated fieldwork. I am happy to do more than the minimum percentage on an as-needed basis, which we can discuss if it becomes necessary.

How much do you charge for supervision?

In a perfect world, I wouldn’t have to charge for supervision at all. As such, I try to keep my rates as reasonable as possible. I believe that every grad student deserves competent, high-quality supervision.

For 5% (up to 8 hours per month), I charge $300/month.

For the concentrated fieldwork, which requires 7.5% of total hours to be supervised (up to 12 hours per month), I charge $500/month.

While the hourly rate may be high, the rate ensures that I can dedicate time outside of supervision to reviewing materials from previous supervision sessions, following up on tasks from previous meetings, and preparing materials so that you have enough to do for your hours between meetings. Supervising is hard work, and I want to make sure I can give you the quality experience you deserve.
